Dublin Fire Brigade Cycling Club - Staying in the Saddle for Prostate Cancer

The event is set for Saturday October 14th 2023.
A key milestone in the annual sportive calendar. The sportive promises to be a fantastic day to finish off any riders season.

Raising awareness for the importance of having regular health checks regarding mens health. Prostate Cancer is being diagnosed more often in men with more successful prognosis through early detection.

The start and finish will take place at the OBI, DFB Training Centre, Malahide road Marino.

This year there will be 2 routes, 50k, 125k. The 125k is to mark DFB operating the ambulance service for 125 years this year.
The 50k route consists of climbing Howth hill and is fairly flat after that traveling out to Malahide and Swords for their food stop. From there the route will take riders back to the Malahide road and finish at the OBI Marino.

The main route 125k will include climbing Howth hill twice, traveling through Portmarnock Malahide, and on out to Naul and travel up the centre hill of Bellewstown race course, which will certainly test any rider. This will be the main food stop for the 125k route. The route will take riders back through Garristown, St Margaret’s, Ballymun and back to OBI. All participants can look forward to a hot meal and a finishers medal.

Our chosen charity again this year is Beaumont foundation – Rapid Access Prostate Clinic.
